ElvenWolf
D. Clarke, spokesperson for ElvenWolf, came into this world on the 28th of January, 1939
She attended Christ The King grade school through eighth grade, then went through a delightful four years at Ladywood high school in Livonia, Michigan; graduating the 9th of June, 1957. Dorothy was known for her poetry and public speaking ability in high school.
While she was attending school, Dorothy was also learning to ride horses, roman ride and drive the pony hitches at the John F. Ivory polo club at Eight Mile Rd. and Lashur in Detroit, Michigan and later when the club moved to Union Lake. Photos can be seen at http://jfromanrider.tripod.com/ Dorothy also studied jumping from Johnny Wallace and dressage from Chuck Grant, the father of American Dressage.
While riding for the John F. Ivory Roman Riders, Dorothy rode in the Hudson Thanksgiving Day Parades, Christiani Brother's circus, at the Michigan State Fair, as well as various other charity performances. Dorothy gained further experience riding for Thompsons' White Horse Troupe out of Naper, Nebraska; Warvels' White Horse Troupe out of Greensfork, Indiana and Warvels' Arena Kachinas out of Weatherford, Texas at a variety of national and international horse show, circus and rodeo performances. Later Dorothy worked at various TRA race tracks exercising Thoroughbred race horses.
In the 1970s, the author studied Irish Step and Coeli dancing at the Gaelic League in Detroit. While researching old folk songs for a local group performing at O'Halloran's Tipperary Pub, in Southfield, Michigan, Dorothy found some very interesting books in the research section of the Detroit Public Library and began research into ancient cultures impacting Ireland. About this time she traveled to Ireland to spend Christmas with her cousins in Moyvane, Kerry.
Later, after working at various jobs such as mail teller, store detective and mainframe computer operator as well as raising her two girls both on and off the race tracks, Dorothy graduated with a double BS (General Science & Psychology), then became a licensed Massage Therapist (Kurashova method) and certified Hypnotherapist.
After meeting the elusive ElvenWolf in the 1990s, the author retired and returned to her passion of writing fascinating stories. Dorothy resides in Elizabethtown, Kentucky where she also does the occasional past life regression and oracle reading. In her spare time Dorothy is ghost hunting with her friends, working with her Spanish Barb horse, training her dogs or practicing with her cross strung Celtic harp. ~~~
